Homemade Turmeric Tonic

Turmeric Tonic Recipe:

  • 6 cups water

  • 3 tablespoons lemon juice

  • 1 tablespoon turmeric powder

  • 1 tablespoon ginger powder

  • 1 tablespoon honey

  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic juice (from a jar of chopped garlic)

  • pinch of cayenne powder

Bring water to a boil and add all ingredients. Let simmer for 3-5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Allow tonic to cool before moving to a container for storage. STIR WELL. Drink roughly 2oz as needed or daily.

This recipe was inspired by the turmeric tonic I drank at Nepal Yoga Home. I got sick while I was there and I feel that this drink helped me get healthy faster. Please enjoy this tonic and use it in your daily life.

Garlic contains compounds with potent medicinal properties. Garlic is highly nutritious but has very few calories! It can combat sickness, including the common cold. The active compounds in garlic can reduce blood pressure. Garlic improves cholesterol levels, which may lower the risk of heart disease.
